We wanted a dog for a long time, but never felt we were home enough to get one. After I started working from home full time during the pandemic (and knew that it would be semi-permanent), we decided it was time. Puppies were being adopted so quickly at shelters we were having a hard time, so we fostered instead. We saw Boomer’s litter coming on transport from West Virginia, and we jumped at the chance – we fostered two puppies with the intention of adopting one of them. We fell in love with those little fluff balls immediately, but Boomer, the runt, seemed extra special. He filled a hole in our family we didn’t know we had. He’s got a big personality – smart, sassy, loves pretty much all humans and other dogs, and a good game of tug. The beach is his happy place, where he can play in the waves, sniff smelly seashells, and dig to his heart’s content.
