Corbin was 3 years old when he came to the clinic for not being able to use his hind limbs. Five days prior, he had been injured by a door which caused trauma to his spinal cord resulting in the loss of feeling and mobility to his hind legs. In the beginning stage, this is a very painful condition and his owners couldn’t watch him suffer. As a veterinarian, I knew there was a good chance of survival with great quality if we could give him the time and support he needed. Fortunately for me and Corbin, his owners decided to relinquish him to my care and after about 3 weeks, his pain went away and he was happy! He couldn't care less about not having use of his back legs. We found a non profit called Jacob’s Paw which funded his wheelchair and he hasn't stopped since. We have a routine of sleeping at my feet, then waking up to get new diapers, putting on his wheelchair and off he goes! I can’t imagine my life without him.
