About 6 months after adopting a puppy (our first dog ever), I saw an adorable dog coming on transport from WV from the same rescue. I asked to be put in contact with the foster so I could meet him, but someone was already waiting to adopt him. About a week later, I got the best message ever – his adoption had fallen through and did I still want to meet him? We drove to the foster’s home the next day. I fell in love with him immediately. He met our puppy & we brought him home a couple of days later, and they’ve been best friends since. Dexter was the best thing we ever did for Boomer. He was already 1-2 years old, and we know nothing about those first years of his life, but he settled into our home quickly. I call him my little velcro dog – although he loves to meet other dogs, he’s more likely to hang out with the humans and give kisses. He’s sweet, loves squeaky plush toys, wrestling with Boomer, and snuggling on the couch.
