Red & Black Buffalo Plaid Fred and the rest of his litter were abandoned in Alabama and made their way up to Delaware to make room in the kill shelters in the Alabama area. Fred was the last in his litter to be adopted, can you believe it? To read his happily everafter see the "Meet Fred" section.
Fred
Fred is a border collie mix that we adopted in April 2022 at 3 months old from Fur-Ever Paws Rescue in Newark, DE. He and the rest of his litter were abandoned in Alabama and made their way up to Delaware to make room in the kill shelters in the Alabama area. He was the last in his litter to be adopted, can you believe it? He was scared when we first adopted him, unsure of a lot of things, he was afraid of car rides and clung to his dad for the whole drive to the pet store. We picked up all of his supplies and he came home and fell asleep on his new bed, feeling at home. Now he's a 10 month old puppy, FULL of energy, very smart and good at his training classes, and has made fast friends with all of the dogs on his walks through the neighborhood. His hobbies include staring out the window for hours, barking at passing bicycles, chewing on everything, playing with friends at daycare, and running laps around the backyard with his frisbee. He has two cat brothers, Oliver and Theodore, but is always so excited to see them that he scares them off! We love our happy little puppy and can't wait to train him to do agility or nose work to give him a fun job and keep him mentally stimulated. He is a wonderful addition to our family.
