Mystic
From Mystics mom: Mystic was the very first cat I owned. Her name was originally Phoenix because she truly rose from the ashes.
In the summer of 2020, Mystic was found in the woods near Rochester NY with her babies. A woman was trapping cats in the area and doing TNR but when she trapped Mystic, she realized she was friendly and would make a good house cat. When Mystic was brought to the vet, she was underweight and not doing well. The vet thought she could have once been someone’s house pet that was dumped when she got pregnant because she was doing so poorly on her own in the woods, she had 5 babies with her, 2 unfortunately passed right away, 2 of them were easy to trap, and the last one evaded the trap for months.
Mystics 2 babies that were caught, were adopted out right away but mystic stayed behind waiting for her forever home.
I was scrolling on Facebook in on September of 2020 when I saw a post with Mystics picture and I fell in love. I commented on the post and the woman who trapped her messaged me right away. After I filled out an application, and was approved to adopt, I just need to wait for Mystic to be medically cleared for me to bring her home.
Poor mystic had some medical complications, her routine spay, ended up being an abortion of 7 kittens even though she just finished weening off her other 2 little ones. She was so malnourished, no one suspected that she was pregnant, especially with such a large litter. She went into a small depression and her personality changed a bit. She went from extremely cuddly and chill, to more of a nervous cat.
I brought her home on September 19th 2020 and it took a while for her to transition to a new place. The first few nights she cried every night. Then eventually she got comfortable around the house and comfortable with my dog. She now cuddles with me every morning and LOVES treats and food. She is so relaxed and sweet, she is still shy around strangers but when she gets to know you, she is the kindest cat you have ever met
Side note, my grandmother calls Mystic “La Reina” because she truly is the queen of the house. She sits on her throne towering over the rest of the animals, always ready to put anyone in their place if they act up.
