Ralphie Stars for Ukraine
Ralphie was born in a puppy mill with congenital back leg and joint deformities due to irresponsible breeding practices. He was then sold at a pet store in Nashville, TN as a purebred Jack Russell Terrier. A few months later, possibly due to his leg problems or the fact that he's not a JRT at all, Ralphie found himself on his way to a high kill shelter. That's when several rescues stepped in and saved him! Two volunteers from Pilots N Paws flew him from his foster home in Tennessee to his new foster family in Michigan. They got him the medical care he needed and a specialist determined Ralphie's legs would be better off without surgery. He would just always have his own special way of walking. He's all about to run and play like other dogs. He just needs a little help to get on the couch or bed for snuggles. Ralphie was listed on Petfinder.com where he was quickly found by his forever family. A DNA test determined that he's not a JRT at all! He's a mix of Chihuahua, Shih Tzu, Poodle, and American Eskimo Dog. His unique look and way of walking has been a great ice breaker to share with anyone who asks about him who it's important to rescue dogs rather than supporting puppy mills that keep dogs in horrible conditions to breed puppies that are sold online and at pet stores.
